Established in 1988,the office of the Provost has been serving the student community of the University of Kashmir for several decades with commitment and intrgrity. The office holds a pivotal role in overseeing the administration and welfare of  boarders residing in the University's Hostels, including those located at the main campus and Zakura campus.

The provost's office is entrusted with the management and regulation of accommodation across vaiours hostels,ensuring a safe, disciplined, academcilly conducive environment for all  residents. It is committed to uphold the highets standards of work ethics and professionalism, making it a cornerstone  of the University's hostel system.

In collaboration with hostel Wardens,the office played a key role in formulating the New Hostel Policy 2019,which now serves as a guiding framework for the regulation of hostel accommodations and related matters.

Currently, the University of Kashmir operates seven boys' hostels, with three located on the Main Campus and Four at the Zakura Campus.The office of the Provost continues to strive for excellence in hostel administration, always placing student welfare and development at the forefront.
